Getting started with Liner takes just a few minutes. Install the browser extension, create your first workspace, and start highlighting content from any webpage. Here's a step-by-step guide to set up your AI research assistant and make the most of its features.
Install the Liner browser extension
Visit the Chrome Web Store or Edge Add-ons store and search for 'Liner — AI Research Assistant.' Add the extension to your browser and pin it to your toolbar for easy access. Create a free Liner account using your email or a Google login to sync your highlights across devices.
Create your first research workspace
Open the Liner web app from your extension or visit liner.app. Click 'New Workspace' and give it a name related to your project (e.g., 'Thesis Research' or 'Competitor Analysis'). Add a description and choose a color code for easy visual organization. You can create up to 3 workspaces on the free plan.
Start highlighting on any webpage
Navigate to any article, blog post, or academic paper in your browser. Select text with your cursor, and the Liner highlight tool will appear. You can also right-click to highlight entire paragraphs.
Organize and analyze your highlights with AI
Return to your workspace in the Liner web app to view all saved highlights. Use tags, folders, and search to filter content. Export your research or integrate with writing tools
